Notice when you're tired and take a break as soon as possible
Take a moment to notice how you're feeling right now.
Are you tired or fatigued?
Do you feel overwhelmed or stressed?
Consider how often we push through these feelings, rather than taking the time to rest and recharge.
Today's mindful minute invites you to notice when you're tired and take a break as soon as possible, in order to support your physical, mental, and emotional well-being.
Going Deeper
Here are some tips to help you notice when you're tired and take a break:
- Practice the STOP exercise: When you notice yourself feeling tired or fatigued, take a moment to practice the STOP exercise. Stop what you're doing, Take a deep breath, Observe your thoughts and feelings, and Proceed with greater awareness and intention.
- Take a restorative break: When you feel tired, consider taking a short restorative break. This could be a 10-minute nap, a walk outside, or simply closing your eyes and focusing on your breath for a few moments. Use this as an opportunity to recharge and restore your energy.
- Prioritise self-care: Make self-care a priority in your daily life, by taking time for activities that nourish and support your physical, mental, and emotional well-being. This could be exercise, meditation, spending time with loved ones, or pursuing a hobby or interest that brings you joy.
- Set boundaries: Consider setting boundaries around your work or other responsibilities, in order to create space for rest and self-care. Use this as an opportunity to prioritise your well-being and make time for the things that matter most to you.
Journal Prompt: Reflect on how you feel when you prioritise rest and self-care. What benefits do you experience? How might you continue to make these practices a priority in your daily life?
