5 Tips to Become a Confident and Engaging Speaker
Number 1: Ask your audience questions - starting off with a simple question is a great way to build rapport with your audience and get them engaged from the get go.
Number 2: Start with the end in mind. Know exactly what you want your audience to walk away with (I usually like to have 3 key takeaways) and then use that to help you create your talk.
Number 3: Visualize! Before the talk close your eyes and imagine yourself standing up there feeling super confident, delivering a great presentation, and then receiving positive feedback from your audience.
Number 4: Use open body language- hunching your shoulders, looking down and crossing your arms won’t allow you to speak with much energy.
Number 5: Learn to enjoy it! You’re going to have to deliver your talk one way or another, so it may as well be an experience that you actually enjoy, rather than one that you dread, rush through and then run off as soon as you’re done.
